The Moroccan Fulbright Alumni Association (MFAA)

 

The Moroccan Fulbright Alumni Association, or MFAA is an organization created in 2004 to bring together the former grantees of the Moroccan American Commission for Educational and Cultural Exchange and of the Fulbright and Humphrey programs in Morocco, an organization with a potential membership of one thousand high-level professionals trained in American Universities and active in all fields, disciplines and sectors. The MFAA has institutional members among public and private organizations that share its fields. The Moroccan Fulbright Alumni Association aims to develop the network of the graduates of the MACECE-Fulbright program into an effective organization committed to public service by means of the first-rate multidisciplinary competence of its members and their presence in Academia and in many public and private institutions in Morocco.

The MFAA is committed
1.To uphold the ideal of the Fulbright program as a vehicle for international understanding and peace building and to support the Moroccan American Commission for Educational and Cultural Exchange in its mission to "promote the spirit of traditional friendship uniting the people of Morocco and the United States.


2.To help publicize MACECE programs and activities with the aim of reaching the best possible candidates from all the regions in Morocco.

3. To help organise events aimed at departing and returning Moroccan grantees and incoming American Fulbright scholars and teachers for a smooth transition in either country and to assist them with the collective experience of its members.

4.To create a forum for continuing reflection and exchange on the great socio-economic and developmental issues facing Morocco.


5.To help build networks for scientific research through collaboration with American institutions and specialized laboratories, especially those which have hosted Moroccan Fulbright scholars.

6.To represent the Moroccan Fulbright community nationally and internationally and to develop mutually beneficial exchanges with other Fulbright Alumni associations world-wide.


7. To muster the collective resources of its membership for mutual enrichment and responsible involvement in national life.

In preparation of the MFAA Annual Conference that will take place on December 5, 2015 in Rabat, here is the Call for Communications in English and French with the list of the Scientific Committee and the organizing committee members.

The Moroccan Fulbright Alumni Association (MFAA) seeks to recruit an intern for seven months (October 15, 2015 – May 15, 2016) for a part-time paid internship (3 days a week) to provide administrative and technical support for the organization of the MFAA annual conference. The internship will be based in MACECE, Rabat.

 

Intern qualifications:

- trilingual: english, french and arabic

- bachelor's degree or equivalent

- capacity for synthesis

- takes initiatives

- respects deadlines

- organizational capacities

 

Internship duties:

- attend all organizing committee's meetings

- assist with fundraising

- assist in the planning and organization of the conference: written and oral communications, logistical planning, bookings.

- assist during the conference: participants registration and logistics

- assist in the editing of the conference publications

- update MFAA website

- update members database and increase member outreach

The MFAA is celebrating its 10th Anniversary!
 
CONDOLENCE
 The MFAA Board has been deeply saddened to learn about the sudden demise of our friend and Board member Pr. Taoufik Agoumy this Wednesday, July 30th, 2014.

Pr. Agoumy was a man of wisdom and generosity, loved and respected by all for his intrinsic values and high net worth contribution to science and research. His death is a profound loss not only to his friends and relatives but also to the scientific community at large.

We extend our heartfelt condolences to his family and ask the Almighty to Bless his soul and Bestow Love and Mercy upon him.
